Initial reports indicate that the earthquake has caused widespread damage to buildings and infrastructure. Several buildings have collapsed, including a hotel in Coacalco, State of Mexico. Rescue workers are currently searching for survivors amid the rubble, and authorities are reporting multiple casualties.

The earthquake has also caused power outages in several parts of western Mexico, affecting thousands of people. Authorities are working to restore power and provide assistance to those affected by the quake.

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has expressed his condolences to the victims and their families. He has deployed the Mexican Army and other emergency services to assist in the rescue and recovery efforts.
